This Cookie Policy explains how PixPlace Space(“PixPlace,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies, localStorage, and similar client-side storage technologies when you use the Platform at pixplace.space and app.pixplace.space.
This Policy should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a web server when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login status, language, and display settings) over a period of time, so you do not have to re-enter them whenever you revisit the site or navigate between pages.
In addition to cookies, we use localStorage and sessionStorage, which are web browser storage mechanisms that work similarly to cookies but are stored entirely on your device and are not transmitted to our servers with each request.
2. Why Do We Use These Technologies?
We use cookies and local storage for the following purposes:
- Authentication: To keep you logged in during your session.
- Preferences: To remember your language, theme, and display preferences.
- Security: To prevent unauthorized access and detect session anomalies.
- Feed Personalisation: To remember your content preferences for the “For You” feed (anonymous users only — authenticated users have this stored server-side).
- Performance: To optimize load times and reduce redundant server requests.
3. Categories of Cookies and Storage We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary
These technologies are essential for the Platform to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality such as login.

3.2 Functional / Preference
These storage items enhance your experience by remembering your choices. Disabling them may affect display quality and personalization.

3.3 Analytics and Performance
PixPlace operates a first-party analytics system. We do not use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Amplitude. No analytics scripts from external providers are loaded on our pages.
Our own analytics system records behavioral events (page views, interactions, search queries) directly through our server. Events are associated with a session ID generated server-side. No additional client-side tracking cookies are set for analytics purposes beyond the session association handled by Supabase auth cookies.
3.4 No Advertising Cookies
PixPlace does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or cross-site behavioral advertising. We do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Our Platform loads certain resources from external providers that may set their own cookies:

5. How to Manage Cookies
5.1 Browser Settings
You can configure your browser to refuse all cookies, accept certain types only, or notify you when a cookie is being set. Below are links to cookie management instructions for common browsers:
Important: Disabling strictly necessary cookies (particularly Supabase authentication cookies) will prevent you from logging in and using authenticated features of the Platform.
5.2 Clearing localStorage
You can clear localStorage through your browser's developer tools:
- Open Developer Tools (F12 or right-click → Inspect);
- Navigate to the “Application” tab (Chrome) or “Storage” tab (Firefox);
- Select “Local Storage” and delete the relevant keys (px_theme, px_custom_theme, feedProfile).
5.3 Android App
The PixPlace Android application is a Trusted Web Activity (TWA) that uses the same web browser engine as Chrome. Cookies and storage set by the app follow the same rules as described above. You can clear app data through Android Settings → Apps → PixPlace → Storage → Clear Data.
6. Cookie Consent
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and UK, we rely on consent for non-essential cookies where required by the ePrivacy Directive and applicable national law. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent as they are essential for service delivery. Where we rely on legitimate interests for first-party analytics, you may object to such processing by contacting us.
For Russian users: use of tracking technologies on the Platform is governed by Federal Law No. 149-FZ and Federal Law No. 152-FZ. By using the Platform, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this Policy.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Our Platform does not currently respond to DNT signals because there is no universally adopted standard for what websites should do when they receive such signals. We will revisit this position if a standard is adopted.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically. Changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or by email.
